LightBulb Lessons in Leadership w/Navy Cross Recipient U.S. Marine Leader Aubrey L. McDade Jr
My special guest on this episode is my brother Mr. Aubrey McDade.
Gunnery Sergeant Aubrey L. McDade, Jr. (Ret) is a United States Marine who was awarded the Navy Cross for his heroic actions in which he rescued two fellow Marines during an enemy ambush in Iraq in 2004. He is the 15th Marine to receive the Navy Cross for actions in the United States of America's "War on Terror"; its foreign offensives undertaken since September the 11th 2001. McDade, a native of Fort Worth, Texas, received the Department of the Navy’s second highest award for valor while serving with Company B, 1st Battalion, 8th Marines, Regimental Combat Team 7, 2nd Marine Division.
In this episode, Aubrey shares insights and LightBulb Lessons on what he’s learned about how to transition from being an infantry Marine to a decorated war hero, what some of his best leadership practices are around being grounded and staying true to who you are as a person, and what he’s learned from consulting and mentoring youth via his partnership with former pro running back LaDainian Thomlison.
